We already know the tremendous joy — and even health benefits — that companion animals bring into our lives.
An interesting movement called the One Health Initiative is taking it a bit further by demonstrating that the health of humans, animals and the environment are all interconnected. Specialists in various fields are working together to find solutions to health problems that impact all of us. Not just people. Not just cats. Not just trees. All of us. It’s a heady concept that’s actually about as basic as it gets.
And while it would be great if we could all live together in quiet harmony, there are simply some situations when insects or rodents in the home pose a threat to our health and our property. Luckily, there are innovative and safe ways nowadays to handle pest problems —while keeping our pets safe from various toxic elements. Learn more about better pest-proofing strategies on page 3.
And while the type of pest you may encounter in your home is somewhat dependent on what part of the country you live in, all cat owners need to be informed about the real danger of heartworm disease. You need to know that it’s not a disease specific to dogs, and that some indoor cats can be at risk as well.
See you in April!
